The Chartered Governance Institute’s IFA Level 5 qualification builds on IFA Level 4 and provides a more detailed understanding of international finance. Ideal for those who already work in a supervisory or junior management finance role, the qualification suits the needs of staff working in different sectors or areas of work, including fund administration, business management and financial reporting and governance.

Suitable For

Candidates in a supervisory or junior management role and who:
• Hold a Level 4 International Finance and Administration;
• Hold a Certificate in Offshore Finance and Administration (COFA) qualification;
• Have a relevant university degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution
• Hold a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma in International Trust Management

Level 5 is set at second year undergraduate level.

The Qualification

 

 

Level 5 International Finance and Administration

Four papers make up the Level 5 qualification:

  • Trust and Company Administration (Core Module)
    As well as thoroughly covering trust and company administration this module also covers the regulation of offshore service providers, taxation & tax planning
  • Fund Administration
    This module explores the world of investment & modern portfolio management. It also examines how an investment fund comes together from the spark of an idea through to expertise and structuring; administration & regulation; the different products & services available and how they’re regulated.
  • Business Management in Practice
    This module introduces the fundamentals of effective management & leadership in business. It also explores how business functions can be organised & how they develop their business strategy in order to grow their business.
  • Financial Reporting and Governance
    This module covers the financial reporting & accounting frameworks within which UK companies must operate. It also looks at different types of investment & how they’re treated for accounting purposes plus the key issue of corporate governance and why it is necessary for companies to implement good governance.

Qualification details

  • Qualification takes between 12 and 24 months to complete
  • JFSC Table 4 qualification
  • On completion of all four papers, students receive the Level 5 Diploma in International Finance and Administration and are eligible to become affiliated members of The Chartered Governance Institute.
