Professional Qualification
Overview
The Foundation Program allows students with no prior qualifications to gain direct access to the CGI Chartered Governance Qualifying Program without being required to complete IFA 4 and IFA 5. As such, it is ideally suited for students with the academic ability to undertake the Qualifying Programme giving them a ‘fast track’ into this postgraduate degree-level qualification.

This programme is open entry, with no prior qualifications required, and suitable if you are living or working in the UK or internationally. It is a Level 4 qualification, set at the same academic level as a first year undergraduate degree.

The Qualification
CGIUKI Foundation Programme
The Foundation Programme covers the following subjects:
- Introducing the Business Environment
How businesses are organised and run and how the external environment affects business activities. - Introduction to Law
An introduction to corporate and business (commercial) law and the legal framework within which businesses operate. - Principles of Company Compliance and Administration
Introducing legal, ownership and management structures for companies, how companies are incorporated and routine company compliance and governance obligations. - Introduction to Finance and Accounting
The basics of bookkeeping and how to understand the components of financial documentation as well as the principles of financial decision making.
Structure
- 6 days of face-to-face (or Online Classroom Live tuition) by a qualified local tutor at our Jersey BPP Centre.
- 3 days of guided revision face to face at our Jersey BPP Centre.
- Mocks – 2 mocks marked with tutor feedback given.
Qualification details
- Qualification takes 3 months to complete
- The JFSC do not currently list the Foundation Programme on their table of qualifications; however, they have confirmed their list is not exhaustive and it will be considered on application.

Online Classroom Live (Hybrid)
Online Classroom Live Hybrid provides interactive online sessions at scheduled times. This is the ideal approach if you like the discipline and motivation of structured classes, but with the flexibility of studying wherever you have internet access. It provides everything you would expect from a traditional BPP classroom, but delivered live and interactively online.
* Our Lifetime Pass Assurance also gives students and employers the reassurance that, in the event that a student does not pass an exam, provided they have attended the classes and attempted the mock exams, they can resit the course as many times as it takes for them to pass.
